FAQ

Install

Do you preform the installation of my shed?

Certainly, installation is included with purchase of the shed.

Should I call to schedule my shed install?

Absolutely, don’t hesitate to contact us, and a T-rex Sheds representative will be more than happy to schedule an on-site consultation, where we can comprehensively go through all the details, address any questions you might have, and ensure you’re added to our build schedule.

What is the typical timeframe for installation?

About 3-4 weeks from consultation.

Is it necessary for me to be present during the installation of my shed?

The presence of a person who is at least 18 years old is required during the start of installation. You are not required to be at home once the installation process has commenced, but it is important that you are present upon completion for a walk-through and to sign the certificate of completion.

What is the expected duration of the installation process?

A dedicated professional installer will be assigned to each project, and the installation duration will fall between 1 to 2 days. The exact timeframe can differ depending on factors such as location, leveling, and the time required for material transportation at the assembly site.

Is it necessary for me to acquire a building permit before the installation of my shed?

It’s advisable to contact your local Building Authority and Homeowners Association before proceeding with installation to ensure compliance with codes, easements, and setbacks. Typically, structures ranging from 120 to 200 square feet, depending on your location can be constructed without the need for permits.

Is there anything I need to do to get my yard ready for the installation?

The area where assembly will take place should have a maximum variance of 5 inches in terms of levelness; please note that installers will not perform any excavation on the site.

The designated area should have a clear space of at least 18 inches on all four sides, though this requirement may vary based on the chosen shed style and other factors. Additionally, the area should be free from obstructions like branches, bushes, and power lines overhead.

Power supply should be accessible within a 150-foot radius of the construction site.

Do I need to provide leveling blocks?

No, we will supply the blocks required to level the shed.

Painting/Caulking

Does the shed come already painted?

While we do provide painting as an optional service, it is not included with the purchase of your shed and remains the responsibility of the homeowner. Our sheds are constructed using pre-primed Smart LP siding, and the manufacturer mandates the use of 100% acrylic latex paint. It’s essential to paint the whole exterior of the shed.

Has the shed been properly sealed to prevent water from coming in?

We take great care in the craftsmanship of our sheds to ensure that each one meets our strict engineering standards. It is advisable that after your shed’s installation, you take care to caulk all the remaining joints except for the critical ones that we have already sealed. This extra step serves as an additional precaution to prevent any form of moisture infiltration.

Within what timeframe should I caulk and paint my shed?

Caulking and painting of your shed should ideally be completed within three to four weeks following its installation.
